Indiana Wesleyan University’s adult and online unit, National & Global, had an average net price of $17,069 for 2024-25, and 45% of all its students who started in 2017-18 earned an award within eight years (College Scorecard, October 15, 2026). That net price covers 1,060 full-time, first-time students with federal aid and includes living costs.

If you are investing your own hard-earned money this time, check which IWU a figure describes before you trust it. Federal data files the online and adult programs under their own school ID, 488679, apart from the residential campus in Marion, Indiana. Every federal figure on this page is for National & Global.

What you're working toward

Online classes at IWU have no set meeting times

IWU says “there is no prescribed date and time for class sessions.” Each class session, which IWU calls a workshop, “is open/available to students for seven days,” and you log in during those days to post, submit work and join team activities.

IWU requires and monitors “student engagement” in every online program: posting in a discussion, submitting an assignment, or completing a test or quiz. Its online business administration page says courses run in “a convenient 6-week structure.”

Credit you bring can count. IWU says up to 90 credits may transfer toward the 120 needed for a B.S., “depending on the degree program being pursued and how and from where the credits were earned,” and College Navigator lists credit for life experiences and for military training at this ID.

IWU’s online tuition is $455 a credit in the two programs we checked

IWU sets online tuition “on a per-degree basis,” and “all online students receive a flat tuition credit rate based on the program, not state of residence.” These are the two program pages we checked on October 27, 2026.

Program (IWU’s page, October 27, 2026)Credit hours listedTuition at $455 a credit, by our math
Online B.S. Business Administration42$19,110
RN to BSN, post-licensure30$13,650

Both pages say fees “will be assessed throughout the program,” and that prerequisites and required electives cost extra. Both also say “Your tuition rate will remain the same as long as you remain continuously enrolled in the same program.” Ask an enrollment counselor for the program’s cost sheet.

The RN, Registered nurse. A nurse licensed by a state board after passing the NCLEX-RN exam. to BSN, Bachelor of Science in Nursing. A bachelor’s degree in nursing. Registered nurses can earn it in an RN-to-BSN program. asks for an associate degree with a major in nursing and “proof of current unencumbered RN licensure.” IWU requires “at least 60 transferable credit hours” before the bachelor core, and “a maximum of 40 hours of credit may be earned through the assessed learning process toward the required 60 credits.”

College Scorecard lists National & Global’s tuition and fees at $8,448 for 2025-26, the same in-state and out-of-state.

National & Global’s net price counts living costs, so it sits above tuition

Net price is the full cost of attendance minus grants and scholarships. College Navigator counts tuition and fees, books and supplies, food and housing and other expenses in that cost, which is why the net price sits above the tuition.

IWU’s own online cost-of-attendance averages for 2024-25 show the same split at each level.

IWU online, 2024-25 averagesTuition and feesCosts not paid to IWUTotal
Associate degree$8,208$14,800$23,008
Bachelor’s degree$10,440$15,040$25,480
Graduate degree$11,214$11,505$22,719

Costs not paid to IWU include housing and food ($12,000 for associate and bachelor’s students), books, transportation, personal costs and loan fees. IWU adds: “To calculate actual tuition and fees, refer to the cost sheet for your program.”

Scorecard’s $17,069 average covers 1,060 full-time, first-time undergraduates with federal aid in 2024-25; by family income it ran from $16,433 ($48,001 to $75,000) to $19,918 ($110,001 and up). 81% of National & Global’s undergraduates were 25 or older in fall 2023, and 1,561 undergraduates transferred in for fall 2024, so a transfer or part-time student’s cost can differ.

55% of National & Global undergraduates had a Pell Grant in 2024-25. For 2026-27, Pell pays up to $7,395 a year to eligible undergraduates.

45% of National & Global’s 2017-18 starters earned an award in eight years

Measure, IWU National & GlobalValue
Earned an award within 8 years (all students who started in 2017-18)45%
Graduated within 150% of normal time (first-time, full-time, fall 2019 cohort)28%
Median earnings 6 years after starting (entered 2015-16 and 2016-17)$53,753
Median earnings 10 years after starting (entered 2011-12 and 2012-13)$65,692
Graduates’ median earnings 4 years after finishing (2017-18 and 2018-19 finishers)$68,838
Graduates’ median federal loan debt (entered repayment in fiscal 2024 and 2025)$23,375
Undergraduates with a Pell Grant (2024-25)55%
Undergraduates with a federal loan (2024-25)53%

The two rates count different groups. The 8-year rate counts all students who started in 2017-18. The 150% rate counts only first-time, full-time students who started in fall 2019; College Navigator notes that students who “have already attended another postsecondary institution, or who began their studies on a part-time basis, are not tracked” for that kind of rate.

If you are going back after earlier college, read the 8-year rate.

These are medians for the whole National & Global ID. Your payoff depends on the program, the job you aim for and what you pay.

Earnings are graduates’ medians four years after finishing, for 2017-18 and 2018-19 finishers. Debt is the median federal loan balance of 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers.

The nursing rows are National & Global’s nursing bachelor’s and master’s awards; IWU’s RN to BSN page lists “IWU National and Global” as its institution. To compare them with other schools’ programs, read online RN-to-BSN and MSN programs compared, and for money you do not repay, grants for nursing school.

The social work master’s is the second-largest field; online counseling and MSW programs sets it beside other schools on licensure and outcomes.

Graduate students outnumber undergraduates at National & Global

National & Global had 7,430 graduate students and 6,656 degree-seeking undergraduates in fall 2024. College Navigator puts its average graduate tuition at $10,266 for 2024-25, plus $660 in fees.

IWU’s financial aid page still describes Graduate PLUS Loans, so ask its online aid office what applies to you. National & Global’s nursing master’s had the highest median debt in the fields table, $54,216 for 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers. The grad loan gap check shows what federal loans leave uncovered year by year.

HLC accredits IWU as a whole, and approved three 90-credit degrees in March 2026

IWU’s accreditation page says it “is accredited as a whole by the Higher Learning Commission,” and College Navigator lists HLC for the National & Global ID. The dates below are from IWU’s page and HLC’s own record.

IWU lists program accreditation too: CCNE for its nursing bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate, CSWE for the online Bachelor of Social Work and the MSW, ACBSP for its business degrees and CACREP for three counseling master’s.

  1. Initial HLC accreditation, IWU's page says

IWU’s accreditation page lists this date for the institution.

  2. Last reaffirmation

IWU’s page lists the last HLC visit as November 11-12, 2019.

  3. HLC approves three 90-credit bachelor's

HLC’s actions list three Bachelor of Applied AI Analytics specializations “in a reduced-credit format (90 credit hours, CIP code 11.0102).”

  4. IWU announces Fast Forward degrees

IWU says all Fast Forward degrees are delivered 100% online.

  5. Next HLC visit, IWU's page says

IWU’s page notes it was last checked on January 23, 2020.

IWU says the first Fast Forward cohort began in fall 2025, so no Scorecard outcome on this page covers those programs. For what changed in how the Department of Education groups accreditors, read regional vs national accreditation.

Who IWU’s online programs fit, and the watch-outs

It fits if

  • You work and can’t log in at fixed times. Each workshop is open for seven days, with no set meeting time.
  • You are an RN with an associate degree. The RN to BSN lists 30 credit hours at $455 each. National & Global’s nursing bachelor’s finishers of 2017-18 and 2018-19 earned a median $84,157 four years later.

Watch-outs

  • National & Global’s six-year rate is 28%. That counts first-time, full-time students who started in fall 2019; 45% of all 2017-18 starters earned an award within eight years.
  • The posted rate is not the whole bill. Fees, prerequisites and required electives are charged on top of the $455 a credit.
  • In the fields table, master’s debt runs higher than bachelor’s. National & Global’s social work and nursing master’s medians were $38,013 and $54,216 for 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers.

Check your own aid before you apply to IWU

National & Global’s averages describe what other students paid. IWU’s online financial aid office sets your actual offer.

The aid check applies the federal rules for the year you start (2026-27 or 2027-28) to your answers. It takes about two minutes and shows Pell, state or campus grants, Work-Study and federal loans without asking your name, email or phone.

To compare on the same measures in College Scorecard’s October 2026 data, see Grand Canyon University (43% eight-year rate for 2017-18 starters, $24,000 median debt for graduates entering repayment in fiscal 2024 and 2025) or Liberty University Online (47%, $22,500).

Degree Sources may refer readers to schools through partners. School matching is optional, comes after your aid result, and is not an application or admission to IWU or any school. The figures here come from federal records and IWU’s own pages, and this profile does not rank schools.
