Check your aid before you choose Saint Leo
About two minutes, no name, email or phone asked. Pell, state or campus grants, Work-Study and federal loans for your answers. Saint Leo's financial aid office sets your actual offer.
Check my aidFor an online bachelor’s, Saint Leo’s 2026-27 WorldWide rate is $425 a credit hour. WorldWide is its price list for online and education-center students, not the campus schedule.
If you are investing your own hard-earned money this time, three numbers decide what Saint Leo costs you: the $425 WorldWide rate, how many of your credits Saint Leo counts, and the aid you qualify for.
Saint Leo is a private nonprofit, Roman Catholic university in Saint Leo, Florida. One federal school ID covers its residential campus, its education centers and its online students, so every federal figure below covers all of them together.

Almost all Saint Leo online courses run in eight-week terms, with six starts a year
Saint Leo is not an online-only school: College Scorecard does not flag it as fully online. In fall 2024, 68% of its undergraduates took only distance courses, 16% mixed online and campus courses, and 16% took none online (College Navigator).
Saint Leo files online and education-center students together under Saint Leo WorldWide. Admission is rolling, with six start dates a year, and Saint Leo says “almost all online program courses are taken in eight-week terms, excluding some online education courses and many social work courses that are taken in 16-week semesters.”
Saint Leo says it has taught online since 1998, and SACSCOC lists its distance education approval on February 17, 2000. SACSCOC also lists open education centers at Naval Air Station Key West, MacDill Air Force Base, Savannah, Georgia, and Tampa, among other sites.

Saint Leo’s WorldWide schedule charges $425 a credit for a bachelor’s in 2026-27
| Rate (Saint Leo’s label, 2026-27) | Per credit hour |
|---|---|
| WorldWide bachelor’s degree | $425 |
| WorldWide associate degree | $250 |
| WorldWide active-duty military | $250 |
| University Campus, 1 to 11 credits a semester | $750 |
| Master of Business Administration | $750 |
| Master of Science in Criminal Justice | $695 |
| Master of Social Work | $620 |
Full-time University Campus tuition is $17,500 a semester, or $35,000 a year, for 12 to 18 credits. The military rate covers eligible active duty, reserve and guard members and their spouses in undergraduate WorldWide programs. The WorldWide undergraduate schedule says “Tuition may increase annually.”
On top of tuition, the WorldWide schedule lists a $45 technology fee per online course and a $145 degree conferral fee. Its Course Materials Connection Program charges $30 a credit, which the schedule says “may be waived by following opt-out procedures.”
The 90 credits are a ceiling, not a promise. Saint Leo’s evaluators “complete a course-by-course evaluation of your transfer credit,” and credit earned more than 10 years before you apply “is subject to a transfer evaluation review and may not be applicable to a current degree program.”
Saint Leo’s own aid budget for a civilian WorldWide undergraduate counts $10,200 in tuition a year, which is 24 credits at the $425 WorldWide bachelor’s rate, by our math. With books, housing, food, personal expenses, transportation and loan fees, that budget totals $37,036 a year.
College Scorecard lists $30,750 in tuition and fees for 2025-26, the same in-state and out-of-state. That is a full-time undergraduate figure for the whole ID, not the per-credit online rate.
Saint Leo’s 2024-25 net price ran $20,875 to $29,177 by income for full-time first-time aided students
Net price is the full cost of attendance minus grants and scholarships. College Navigator counts tuition and fees, books and supplies, food and housing and other expenses in that cost.
| Family income | Average net price, 2024-25 (full-time first-time students with federal aid) |
|---|---|
| $0 to $30,000 | $21,302 |
| $30,001 to $48,000 | $20,875 |
| $48,001 to $75,000 | $21,840 |
| $75,001 to $110,000 | $25,575 |
| $110,001 and up | $29,177 |
Scorecard’s $24,658 average covers 544 full-time, first-time undergraduates who got federal aid in 2024-25. College Navigator says 26% of Saint Leo’s entering students were full-time and first-time in 2024, so a part-time online adult’s cost can differ.
33% of Saint Leo undergraduates had a Pell Grant in 2024-25. For 2026-27, Pell pays up to $7,395 a year to eligible undergraduates.
32% of Saint Leo’s 2017-18 starters earned an award within eight years
| Measure | Saint Leo |
|---|---|
| Earned an award within 8 years (all students who started in 2017-18) | 32% |
| Graduated within 150% of normal time (first-time, full-time, fall 2019 cohort) | 42% |
| Returned for a second year (first-time, full-time bachelor’s students who began in fall 2023) | 59% |
| Median earnings 6 years after starting (entered 2015-16 and 2016-17) | $44,924 |
| Median earnings 10 years after starting (entered 2011-12 and 2012-13) | $53,366 |
| Graduates’ median earnings 4 years after finishing (2017-18 and 2018-19 finishers) | $58,644 |
| Graduates’ median federal loan debt (entered repayment in fiscal 2024 and 2025) | $25,000 |
| Undergraduates with a federal loan (2024-25) | 32% |
The two completion rates count different groups. The 8-year rate counts every 2017-18 starter, part-time and transfer students included. The 150% rate counts only students who started full-time with no prior college.
If you are transferring in or studying part-time, the 8-year rate is the one that counts students like you. It counts Saint Leo awards only: students with no award are reported as still enrolled or as having transferred out.
Earnings were measured in 2022 and 2023, in 2024 dollars. These are medians for the whole ID, campus and online together; your payoff depends on the program, the job you aim for and what you pay.
Business and criminal justice lead Saint Leo’s awards in 2023-24

| Criminal justice and corrections (master's; none fully online) | 97 | $62,658 | $56,375 |
Earnings are graduates’ medians four years after finishing, for 2017-18 and 2018-19 finishers. Debt is the median federal loan balance of 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers.

SACSCOC lists no public sanctions now, after Saint Leo’s 2023 to 2024 probation over financial responsibility
The SACSCOC record, as of October 27, 2026, lists Saint Leo’s status as Accredited and its public sanctions as “None”. Its next fifth-year review is in 2027 and its next reaffirmation in 2031.
Saint Leo’s own statement says that in December 2023 SACSCOC “made the decision to continue Saint Leo University’s accreditation for good cause and placed it on Probation.” It says this was “in response to the university’s compliance with Standard 13.3 of the Principles of Accreditation for financial responsibility.”
The same statement says that in December 2024 SACSCOC “found Saint Leo University in compliance with all SACSCOC standards and made the decision to remove the Probation for Good Cause status.” SACSCOC’s record lists a 2024 monitoring report with a special committee in its recent history.
During the probation, Saint Leo’s FAQ answered whether it affected federal aid: “No. Saint Leo University remains accredited by SACSCOC and is still recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as an accredited postsecondary institution to award degrees and offer federal financial aid to eligible students.”
SACSCOC’s full list of its June 11, 2026 Board actions does not name Saint Leo, and neither do the December 2025 sanctions and removals on its actions page (checked October 27, 2026).
Saint Leo is not on the Department of Education’s list of schools on heightened cash monitoring as of June 1, 2026, the latest quarterly list on Federal Student Aid’s page on October 27, 2026. Federal Student Aid uses heightened cash monitoring “to provide additional oversight of cash management,” for reasons that include “concern around a school’s financial responsibility.”
In February 2026, Saint Leo’s release on its president’s six-month update quoted Dr. Jim Burkee: “We have had to take a hard look at ourselves, and I think that’s healthy.”
The release said he outlined a growth strategy focused on “digital fluency, workforce alignment, and long-term institutional stability,” and that the university’s priorities include “rebuilding online and adult learning programs through the Lionova Institute.”
Saint Leo’s August 19, 2026 release said nearly 850 new students would start that fall at its residential campus. It also cited $4.8 million in recent state and donor investments.

Who Saint Leo fits, and the watch-outs
It fits if
- You want a criminal justice bachelor’s online. Saint Leo offers it online, on campus and at education centers. State-approved police or corrections academy training can earn up to 15 elective credits.
- You serve in the military. Eligible active duty, reserve and guard members and their spouses in WorldWide undergraduate programs pay $250 a credit for 2026-27. Military experience with ACE recommendations can earn up to 39 credits.
- You have credits to bring. Up to 90 credits can count toward a bachelor’s, so as few as 30 of a 120-credit degree are left to take at Saint Leo.
Watch-outs
- 68% of 2017-18 starters had not earned a Saint Leo award within eight years, by our math. Scorecard does not track awards earned after transferring out.
- Transfer credit is decided course by course. Up to 90 credits is Saint Leo’s ceiling, and credit earned more than 10 years before you apply gets a transfer evaluation review.
- Three master’s fields carry more than $50,000 in debt. 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers owed a median $55,931 in business, $53,454 in social work and $56,375 in criminal justice, by our count from Scorecard.
- Fees sit on top of the $425 WorldWide rate. A $45 technology fee applies per online course, and the course materials charge is $30 a credit unless it is waived through the opt-out procedures.
