If you are investing your own hard-earned money this time, the rate per credit tells you more than a yearly average. For 2026-27, Embry-Riddle posts $542 a credit hour for civilian undergraduates at Worldwide and $250 at its military rate.

What you're working toward

Worldwide classes can run fully online, with starts in any month

Worldwide says you can “complete your coursework fully asynchronously and online,” through “traditional online delivery or our interactive live-streaming platform,” or study at “110+ global locations.” Its locations list tags some of those sites “Military Base,” such as Kirtland Air Force Base in New Mexico and Camp Humphreys in South Korea.

Embry-Riddle lists “10 Undergraduate terms per year,” and College Navigator says Worldwide “operates on a continuous calendar system” and that “Students begin their studies in any given month.” In fall 2024, 91% of Worldwide undergraduates and 94% of its graduate students were enrolled only in distance education courses.

Credit you bring can count. College Navigator lists credit for military training at this ID, and Worldwide’s transfer portal gives “a free, unofficial estimate” for “prior college coursework, military training, national exams such as AP, IB, CLEP, College-Level Examination Program. College Board exams that can earn you college credit for what you already know, if your school accepts them. and DANTES, FAA certificates and more.”

Among the nonprofit online schools in our nonprofit vs for-profit comparison, Worldwide sits at the low end for the 8-year award rate and the high end for graduates’ earnings.

Worldwide charges $542 a credit, or $250 at the military rate, for 2026-27

Embry-Riddle says these rates “are for most United States and international Worldwide locations, and Worldwide Online.”

Course level, 2026-27Military rate, per credit hourCivilian rate, per credit hour
Undergraduate$250$542
Master’s (most programs)$755$902
MS in Aerospace, Airworthiness or Systems Engineering; Master of Space Operations$902$902

The military rate “applies to all U.S. service members on active duty or in the reserves or National Guard in a drilling status, as well as spouses of any age and dependents age 26 and under.” Veterans are not in that list.

Scorecard’s $12,553 is tuition and fees for 2025-26; the per-credit rates above are 2026-27. Embry-Riddle says it “reserves the right to increase or modify tuition and fees without prior notice.”

Worldwide’s 2026-27 student budget is $31,673, living costs included

Embry-Riddle’s 2026-27 budget for a full-time Worldwide undergraduate covers “a full-time four-term enrollment period.” In this budget, tuition and the $25 SGA fee are the direct costs billed through the university; the other lines are estimates it does not bill, and it says additional fees may apply to some students.

2026-27 budget lineOff campusReceiving military housing allowance (BAH)
Tuition$13,008$13,008
SGA fee$25$25
Housing$6,616$0
Food$4,612$4,612
Books, course materials, supplies, equipment$1,600$1,600
Personal and miscellaneous$2,136$2,136
Transportation$3,604$3,604
Federal Direct Loan fees$72$72
Total$31,673$25,057

The $13,008 tuition line is 24 credit hours at the $542 civilian rate, by our math. For students receiving BAH, the school says the living expense line “will only include an allowance for food,” so that budget is $6,616 lower.

Scorecard’s average net price for Worldwide was $19,741 for 2024-25, but it rests on 42 full-time, first-time undergraduates with federal aid, while 71% of undergraduates studied part-time in fall 2024 and 76% were 25 or older in fall 2023.

College Navigator defines net price as the full cost of attendance, including food and housing and other expenses, minus grants, which is why it sits above tuition.

28% of Worldwide undergraduates had a Pell Grant in 2024-25. For 2026-27, Pell pays up to $7,395 a year to eligible undergraduates.

Tuition Assistance and the military rate line up credit for credit

Military Tuition Assistance pays up to $250 a semester hour in all six services, and Worldwide’s undergraduate military rate is $250 a credit hour. So, by our math, the rate leaves no gap per credit up to your service’s yearly limit; fees and books are separate.

In the Army, for example, 18 semester hours at $250 is $4,500, the Army’s yearly cap. Our guide to Tuition Assistance limits by branch gives each service’s caps.

At the master’s level the military rate is $755 a credit, $505 above what TA pays per semester hour, by our math. Ask your education office how your service handles graduate courses.

College Navigator counts 3,144 undergraduates and 391 graduate students using DoD Tuition Assistance at Worldwide in 2023-24, and 1,723 undergraduates and 710 graduate students using the Post-9/11 GI Bill. It also lists the Yellow Ribbon Program and credit for military training.

For veterans, the GI Bill calculator shows tuition, housing and books at your Post-9/11 tier, with a Yellow Ribbon check for private schools.

For spouses, Embry-Riddle’s military aid page names the SpouseWorks Scholarship, formerly MyCAA. SpouseWorks pays up to $4,000 toward courses for a license, certification or associate degree needed for a job, not bachelor’s or master’s coursework; our guide explains who qualifies for SpouseWorks.

The military benefits check shows what Tuition Assistance pays a year for your branch and plan and what is left, or what SpouseWorks pays a military spouse.

Graduate students pay $902 a credit, or $755 at the military rate

Worldwide had 3,323 graduate students in fall 2024, and 94% studied only online. Embry-Riddle’s 2026-27 graduate budget lists $10,824 in tuition, which is 12 credits at $902 by our math, and $29,573 in all with living costs.

Worldwide’s air transportation master’s finishers of 2022-23 and 2023-24 owed a median $30,750, and its business master’s finishers $37,750. The grad loan gap check shows what federal loans leave uncovered year by year.

SACSCOC accredits all of Embry-Riddle, Worldwide included

Embry-Riddle says it “is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) to award degrees at the associate, baccalaureate, masters and doctorate levels.” It adds that this accreditation “extends to all Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University off-campus instructional sites, including Prescott, and Worldwide & Online with its affiliated locations.”

College Navigator lists SACSCOC for the Worldwide ID, accredited since July 1, 1970, a date it marks as estimated. Embry-Riddle says its business programs “across all three campuses” are accredited by ACBSP, and that Worldwide is recognized by the Royal Aeronautical Society “across more than a dozen programs.”

Who Embry-Riddle Worldwide fits, and the watch-outs

It fits if

  • You serve. The $250 undergraduate military rate matches Tuition Assistance’s $250 a semester hour, so TA’s rate can cover tuition credit for credit, up to your service’s yearly limit; the service member must obtain TA before enrolling.
  • Your spouse or a dependent 26 and under is studying. They get the same $250 undergraduate rate. Tuition Assistance is a separate matter: Embry-Riddle’s aid page says “the service member must obtain TA.”
  • You work in aviation and want a degree in it. Air transportation bachelor’s finishers of 2017-18 and 2018-19 earned a median $90,495 four years later; 2022-23 and 2023-24 finishers owed a median $20,500.

Watch-outs

  • 69% of 2017-18 starters had no award after eight years, by our math from Scorecard’s 31%.
  • The civilian rate is more than twice the military rate. A civilian pays $542 a credit hour for 2026-27, and the military rate’s list (active duty, drilling Guard and reserves, spouses, dependents 26 and under) does not name veterans.
  • The online Aeronautics degree is not an ATP route. Its graduates are not eligible to apply for the restricted ATP certificate, the school says.
  • Military master’s students face a gap. At $755 a credit, the master’s military rate is $505 above TA’s per-semester-hour rate, by our math.
